Shark Tooth Jewelry

Shark tooth jewelry is a great gift but there are a few things to note before you buy. White shark teeth are a big no no. Why do you want to avoid buying white teeth? White teeth are new shark teeth meaning they just came from the mouth of a shark. Finding a fresh shark tooth on the beach is incredibly rare and most of the time if you see someone selling white teeth or jewelry it means someone is getting them from sharks that were killed. There are a few exceptions where shark divers catch teeth that are shed while they’re in the water with them from their dives and use them to make jewelry but I’m only aware of one small business that does this.You want to be buying fossilized teeth that are millions of years old and can be found on beaches, diving and are no harm to the sharks since they are longggg gone and aren’t missing them. Usually these teeth will be brown, grey, black or a variety of colors. Fossilized teeth can be lighter colors that look cream to off white in color but are less common and still would have some discoloration if they are fossilized.
